Even though it’s viewed as more of a relaxed way of fishing, bottom fishing still necessitates important proficiency when it comes to drifting and anchoring. Because fish like the grouper and red snapper are often near wrecks and reefs, bottom fishing is often among the most effective means of catching them.
Using rods or handlines, bottom fishing can be done on a boat or even on land. The technique involves dropping the bait down to the lower depths to grab a fish’s attention and get them to snag the lure. Once the fish has grabbed the bait, it will feel the weight resistance and will try to swim away, causing it to become hooked to the bait. This weight also assists in making sure the bait remains put despite the presence of currents.
