Which Bait is Right for You ?

Most people know that if you’re expecting to catch any sea dwellers during a fishing trip, you’re going to need bait. While every fishing fan has a type of bait they like to use, live baits are among the most reliable in catching different species of fish. The examples we’ll be looking at only represent a small sample of the bait options available, but they may help with getting your feet wet.

Crayfish. When your goal is to capture one of the larger predators of the sea, crayfish are proven as effective. Crayfish bait does require some degree of trial and error to use, but it provides great reliability.

Nightcrawlers. The nightcrawler is something of a jack of all trades as it can work well for many different fish species, but proper rigging is absolutely necessary. In contrast to crayfish, nightcrawlers are not as hard to find.

Live bait fish. If live bait fish is closer to your preference, you may wish to consider the minnow. Much like nightcrawlers, they are readily available and they’ll attract the attention of many different fish. Keep in mind that your fishing hook shouldn’t be too large when using this bait type.
