Shark fishing is definitely one of those activities where you can expect plenty of adrenaline and thrills. For anyone that wants put their skills to the test against these terrifying predators, it’s an unbelievable ride. The waters are full of different sharks that will challenge you, from the large hammerhead and blacktip to the intimidating tiger shark.
Today’s fishing gear has advanced enough to the point where you may be able to snag a shark using smaller rods and reels.
However, if you don’t have the correct rods, it may result in a fishing experience that’s close to frustrating than exhilarating. Hence, you want to concentrate on your gear and ensure it is able to hold up against the monolithic strength of a shark. In regards to bait, bluefish and mackerel are worthwhile options, though you may also wish to choose amberjack, cobia, or kingfish. And although it mostly goes without saying, make sure you’re not placing your fingers anywhere close to the mouth of a shark. Even the weakest shark twitch may result in a shark’s mouth clamping down on your appendages.
Shark fishing involves lots of technique as well as having the proper gear, including gear that will protect you from the blazing rays of the South Florida sun. If you’d like some assistance with getting your shark fishing feet wet, we encourage you to book an experience with us.
