June is the official start of summer and the perfect month to fish the South Florida waterways. Spring showers are behind us, and we typically see consistent warm weather patterns and good tides. Stronger tides provide sufficient nutrients and oxygen to sustain a healthy food chain of various baits that support and ‘drive’ movement and migratory patterns of all species. Fish become more aggressive and must eat during the summer periods. Their digestive systems are designed to absorb and digest more food than during cool/cold water temperatures.
You will experience fantastic bottom fishing in both deep and shallow waters when fishing aboard Free Spool Sport Fishing. The month of June brings lots of delicious species of fish including yellowtail, mutton, grouper, red snapper and permit. You may also find dolphin (mahi-mahi), sailfish, tuna, kingfish and wahoo swimming around the reefs, weed lines and driftwood.
