Smoker kingfish
Report Date: December 5, 2008
The last couple weeks we've had some excellent weather and fishing. Two things that rarely come together at the same time. Fishing on the reef with live pilchards has produced some excellent kingfish catches. Catching limits everyday and some pretty big ones, like this 35 pounder that ate a live pilchard on a 20 pound test spinning rod.

Fishing baits on the bottom have been very productive for mutton snappers in the 5-10 pound range. A little farther offshore , about 5 miles,we've been catching dolphin (mahi mahi) from 5-10 pounds with a couple up in the 30's. Beautiful weather, great fishing !
